Fathy Salama is a music composer, arranger, producer and pianist. The Grammy Award he got in 2004 makes him the only Arab Grammy winner. The BBC music award of 2004 and the Cairo International Film Festival prize of 2000 are also among his awards. In 1988 Fathy Salama put together his group "Sharkiat" which performed more than 2000 concerts and is still touring the world's biggest Jazz and World Music festivals. Fathy Salama's collaborations with renowned artists like Youssou N'Dour, Cesaria Evora and others produced nine albums two of which feature the "Sharkiat" project.
